On the first Saturday of June, this year's fifth raceday took place in Chuchle Arena Prague with a rich children's accompanying program and two Class A races. The 71st June Stakes, which is traditionally the most important preparatory test for the Czech Derby, was a closely watched test, and three-year-old and older fillies and mares presented themselves in the 19th Nora Jeane Stakes.
The favorite of the 71st June Stakes (Class A, 11f, 135 ths CZK, 3yo) was the winner of the Hungarian 2000 Guineas Arames, but finished fifth, while the bay colt Charpentier, the second from Slovak 2000 Guineas, won and became one of the big favorites of the Czech Derby. Jockey Jaroslav Línek, trainer Radek Holčák and owner Jiří Odcházel won the June Stakes for the second time in their careers.
In the 19th Nora Jeane Stakes (Class A, 1m, 3yo+ f+m, 135 ths CZK), the five-year-old chestnut mare Classa (j. Lucie Fialová, tr. Luka, own. Martin Bláha) won by a short head and recorded already her sixth lifetime win.
